About Fused Glass
Glass Fusing as art / utility dates to approximately 1500 BC – 500 AD.
After the Birth of Christ glassblowing took the place of other types of glass forming.
The art of glass fusing did not really return until the late 1800s - early 1900s
The glass used may be in sheets, frit (small granules of varying sizes), powder (ground glass) or stringers (spaghetti like pieces). The glass may be different colors and/or textures. Most of the glass used is made by some of the same companies that manufacture stained glass.
